Tick Protecting Enrichment
Mabel and I love our morning park walk, but it’s surrounded by three creeks, so in the height of tick season, she needs internal and external support plus post-walk checks to keep her tick-free. Here’s Mabel’s meal enrichment tick-prevention recipe.
Mabel’s Tick Prevention Meal Mix
Ingredients (takes a few minutes to put together)
Earth Animal Herbal Supplement—Mabel weighs 60 pounds, and we’re in high tick season, so I add two teaspoons per meal.
Breakfast or Dinner—Mabel eats a raw diet with yogurt, but don’t switch or add too much to your dog(s)’ diet.
Water—enough to make the consistency broth-like.
Slow Feeder Mat—I love that this mat is reversible and doesn’t slide around.
Bark Pouch Sardines & Cream Cheese Dog Treats—the enticing smell makes the strongly flavored supplement go down deliciously.
The Process
I scoop two teaspoons of the tick prevention powder into a mixing bowl, add water and a squirt from my pouch, and then add the mixture to Mabel’s meal mat.
That’s it. She gobbles down the supplement, and I’m happy keeping her safe from tick bites.
