| Mabel here! I had my annual veterinarian checkup last week. My human said she loved Dr. Giatis but was so glad we hadn’t seen her in months. I got a clean bill of health. Everything—my bloodwork, bumps, teeth, ears—was tip-top. My human practices gratitude often, even for small things, but she was over the moon, bad dancing, and excited about my health news. She realized it was the first time in at least nine years that an annual appointment was good—just good, easy, and boring. She says at least nine years because she doesn’t want to waste time thinking about older ailments with her silly, strong Finn or her sweet, smushy Gavin. When she thinks of her best boys, she wants to remember the good they brought to her life, the fun they had, the memories they made, and the love they shared. My human knows that not everyone is blessed with good health news for themselves or those they love most. Spread good, be good, and love good as you end 2024, humans.
