Ho, Hey! It’s Mabel again.
I hear my human talking to other humans about all the super big stuff your species is dealing with, so since I’m a bulldozing love muffin with boundless energy, I’ll be your blog host, at least for a while.
Also, I’m wiser, funnier, and cuter than my human, so it’s a win-win for you. Today I’d like to share my view on feeling your feelings. It’s so simple.
When I feel happy, I play. I bring my human, my squeaky toy, put my paws on the ottoman right next to her feet, and squawk, chomp, wiggle-squirm until she grabs it and plays, too. It’s so fun. She laughs, and I have the best time, too. And just last week, I felt the need for speed, so I Scooby-Doo scattered, sprinted on the rug, zoom-dashed onto the sofa, and then skated-slid across the end table before catapulting onto the carpeted stairs. My human looked stunned but was so relieved I was safe. I’m a party on four legs, as she says.
And when I’m frustrated, oh, I love a good game of tug. I chomp, thrash, and gleefully grumble, then take a delightful nap afterward. Maybe you should try biting and pulling on your favorite toy, too. I bet it’ll make you feel super awesome.
So, that’s my dog vice today. Feel it all, friends. When you feel good, enjoy, treasure, and be grateful for the merry moments. No one’s joyful all the time, but when you’re happy, honor it. And when the world and all the scary, sad things happening make you feel helpless, be fearless enough to make space for the icky emotions it brings up. Who knows, with your full heart, you may have more energy to help the world.
